Refurbishments are a part of life at Disney Parks. These may take place for various reasons. Whether it be for mechanical issues or cosmetic updates, a refurbishment can take place for many reasons.

Based on the nature of the work, the refurbishment may take a few days or several months. Although refurbishments occur throughout the year, Walt Disney World tends to begin many refurbishments in the slower months of January and February.

When possible, Disney will try to complete work while the attraction remains operational.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is a bit of a mess right now. The "big elephant in the room" is the phased closure of DinoLand, USA. Although DINOSAUR and Restarauntosaurus are still open, construction walls line the majority of this space.

A new permit was recently filed for a rather big refurbishment of the Tree of Life.

Along with these closures and imminent closures, the Harambe Market is currently closed as well. With so much work taking place at Disney's Animal Kingdom, we were surprised to see new work taking place at Expedition Everest.

This morning at Disney's Animal Kingdom, we noticed scrim installed at Expedition Everest. Currently, the scrim is at both the loading and unloading areas of this attraction.

Although Disney has not announced a refurbishment for Expedition Everest, it appears that work will be completed while the attraction remains operational. The bad news is that this may slightly affect the overall experience the next time you venture through the Forbidden Mountain.
