As excited as we were for the new Walt Disney animatronic, we feared the malfunctions that could come along with this. See a video of the opening day malfunction.
Walt Disney Attraction

Walt Disney was a true dreamer and an inspiration for so many. He is immortalized at Disney Parks around the globe, most often with statues, but the Walt Disney Company planned a more immersive experience with the first-ever Walt Disney animatronic.
“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will first debut inside the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland. After its initial run, the attraction will play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”
The attraction is set to open on July 17, 2025, the official date of the 70th Anniversary. Guests need to plan for a Virtual Queue for this attraction.
Walt Disney- A Magical Life

While many have held doubts about a Walt Disney animatronic, I (Donna) have been really excited for this. Walt Disney was such a visionary and took such bold steps in the science of animatronics.
Many compared side-by-side photos of both Walt Disney and the new animatronic. Although not an exact replica of Walt Disney, the Imagineers did an amazing job bringing Walt Disney to life for a new generation of Disney guests.

Walt Disney Malfunction

The small Main Street Opera House was packed with guests waiting to experience this attraction for its grand opening yesterday, July 17, 2025. As this attraction is still brand new, a few malfunctions are understandable.
Walt Disney experienced a malfunction on its opening day
However, when the attraction is Walt Disney, a malfunction hits a bit differently. The Cast Members were quick to dim the lights and redirect guests, but this was a bit disappointing. Check out the full video of this malfunction (thanks to we_dont_wear_ears for sharing):
