Disney closures are pretty commonly delayed. However, this delay hits a bit differently by guests, both young and the young at heart, visiting Fantasyland.
Disney World Interactive Queues

Back in January, we shared that a refurbishment was planned for the inoddor playground in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Initially, this was to begin in January, but was postponed until February.
Anyone who has been on Dumbo the Flying Elephant with small children may have discovered that the children love the playground under the big top in the ride queue more than they love the actual attraction. After all, children love Disney’s play areas.
This is a great way for young guests to play and explore without realizing that they are actually just waiting until their turn to hop aboard Disney’s favorite pachyderm. Find out how this pager system works HERE.
Dumbo Playground Delayed

When Dumbo’s Playground first closed Disney shared, “The indoor children’s playground in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue will close for refurbishment on February 24, 2025 and is expected to reopen in Spring 2025.“
Although Disney has officially kicked off “Cool Kid Summer”, the actual start to summer isn’t until Friday, June 20th. It appears that the work being completed on the Dumbo Playground will now extend a bit later.
Disney shares, “The indoor children’s playground in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue is closed for refrurbishment and is expected to open later this year.” That timeline is pretty vague and could mean later this summer or near the end of the year.
What does this mean for you?

Both side of the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction are open during this closure. This delay is a bit disappointing for guests of all ages. Disney does a great job of making even the queues for many attractions interactive for guests of all ages.
Dumbo Playground refurbishment now delayed until “later this year.”
