Disney’s Hollywood Studios Location Finally Reopens

This area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios seemed long forgotten, but guests were shocked to see this space reopened for the first time in years. Find out why this will be the most popular area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer.

Big Week at Hollywood Studios

This is set to be a BIG week at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests are packing into the Muppet Vision 3D Theatre to enjoy the last few remaining days to enjoy this great attraction with its upcoming closure.

The Villains will also take over Sunset Boulevard this week with “Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After”. The former Lightning McQueen Training Academy was completely transformed for this villainous new show.

Alongside this, “The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure” will also open on May 27, 2025. With the upcoming closure of the Muppet Courtyard, we are glad to see additional shows added for the summer.

Animation Courtyard

Previously, with the shuttering of the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” in 2020, the Animation Courtyard was often overlooked. This summer, the Animation Courtyard will be quite popular.

Along with the new Little Mermaid show, guests can also enjoy the “Cool Kid Summer” activities. Guests can enjoy fun performances from magicians, jump rope performers, and even surprise character appearances.

This new entertainment does affect some offerings. Today, May 25th, the Disney Junior Play and Dance attraction closed to make way for the new “Get Animated” show for this summer. Disney Junior meet and greets have also shifted this summer. Find current locations for your Disney Junior pals HERE.

Hollywood Studios Reopening

In preparation for the influx of guests at Animation Courtyard, the once-shuttered “In Character” shop (located beside the Little Mermaid theatre) reopened today. The My Disney Experience app shows operating hours for this shop to be 9:00 am until 8:00 pm, with a few dates closing at 9:00 pm.

The “In Character” is finally open once again at Animation Courtyard.

This store features costumes, accessories, bubble wands, and more. It will be great to see this space bustling with guests once again.
