DVC is short for Disney Vacation Club. It is a timeshare run by Disney. DVC has the flexibility of a point system. You can book the time of year you travel and the type of accommodation, including your resort of choice.

With this style of timeshare, you are not stuck in a particular week every year. You purchase an allotment of points that you can then choose to spend however you would like.

Disney Vacation Club has made a change for those buying a DVC Membership directly through Disney. Members who finance through Disney, now have the option between a 10 or 15-year loan term (previously 5 or 10 years).

Loan terms have increased for direct purchases for up to 15 years.

Interest rates are still high when financing through Disney, with the lowest rate being 9.99% with good credit and auto-pay setup.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you were looking to buy a direct DVC Membership, this new loan term could be beneficial for you. With the cost of price per point continuing to rise, the price of a DVC contract becomes more out of reach for many.

Lengthening the loan term offers buyers a lower monthly payment. However, it is important to note that purchasing and financing through Disney is still pricey.

Also, there is no penalty for paying the loan off early. Many Members choose to do this as it makes financing through Disney more affordable.
