The Walt Disney Company has been under scrutiny, with many claiming that a Disney vacation is too expensive for the average family. After one failed response, Disney CEO Bob Iger tries a defense.
Disney High Prices

Back in February, we shared that a Disney source feared that the company has “become addicted to price hikes and has reached the limits of what middle-class Americans can afford.”
Along with the higher prices, we shared the many perks that are still missing at Disney Parks. Read more about this HERE. Many of you responded that as loyal Disney fans for decades, for the first time, you are looking elsewhere beyond Disney Parks.
The Walt Disney Company’s response seemed a bit out of touch by listing the current promotions that were only great values for residents in Florida and California.
Disney Economic Impact

Today, Disney CEO Bob Iger shares how the Walt Disney Company impacts the American economy. First, a look into the vision and history of Walt and Roy Disney. Iger shares, “Disney has stood the test of time as a constant source of happiness for families and communities, and a shining example of innovation and imagination.”
Currently, the Walt Disney Company employs 160,000 U.S. employees across all 50 states. Major new initiatives like our $30 billion+ investment in our domestic theme parks will add some 10,000 new jobs in Florida and California.
The Walt Disney Company will spend $23 billion on production for our movies and television, with the majority being spent in the US. Disney invests $370 million in higher education and professional development for our hourly workers nationwide through our Disney Aspire program.
Disney continues to be the #1 Wish-granter in the world for children facing critical illness, and recently fulfilled their $100 million commitment to enhance the children’s hospital experience for patients and their families.
Is this enough?

It is great to hear of the jobs created, education programs, wishes granted for Make-a-Wish, and hospital spaces enhanced with the magic of Disney. However, many loyal Disney fans may feel that the rising Disney Park costs may help fund these huge projects.
The Walt Disney Company will create 10,000 new jobs in Florida and California.
It feels as though the Walt Disney Company is still not hearing the concerns of those who were their loyal guests returning year after year.
What do you think of Disney’s response? Do you think more changes should be made for the Disney fans? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.

Love Disney... been going 1-2 times a year since 1980. Won't be going this year. $200. a day and no guarantee you can even go on rides without LL cost. Takes forever to get overpriced food. So sad Disney hears but doesn't listen. Will be spending my 10 days at Universal.

Disney and Iger are not listening...more $$$ for less perks/products/experiences. Seriously needs to be a major change in leadership/direction for this company.
And Disney doesn't do all these promos when things are going really well for them.
