We are so excited to announce that the Stork has delivered- A STORK. A new baby Abdim’s stork has hatched!

What exactly is an Abdim’s stork, you may ask? Abdim’s storks are native to  Sub-Saharan Africa and Yemen. This is the smallest known species of stork. Adults are easily identifiable by their signature black feathers, blue face and, red patches near each eye.

Also, you will be happy to know that the Abdim’s stork is not listed on the critically endangered list. In fact, while these storks do appear on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species they fall under the category of “least concern,” and we certainly hope that trend continues!

This particular baby lives in DinoLand U.S.A. If you head over to Dinosaur, you might spot this baby in an enclosure at the front of the attraction.
