Often times, when people visit Disney World they leave their worries behind them. Hakuna Matata, right? However, scary real world things can still happen, even in Disney World.

Not the First Incident

Unfortunately, we have seen plenty of fights, screaming matches, and weapons on Disney property. As much as we all wish the Disney bubble was free from all of this, it is not always the case.

Last month we shared about an attempted kidnapping that took place in an Epcot parking lot. You can read the whole story HERE.

On February 9th around 12:00 pm, Disney security reported to deputies they saw a man go inside or attempt to go inside multiple vehicles in the Epcot parking lot.

The man was detained and later charged with attempted burglary. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated that the man charged has an “extensive history” of burglaries.

There were three cars involved. All of the vehicles were parked in the Wall-E section.

The owner of one of the vehicles was able to be contacted and validated that his car was locked and left in the Epcot parking lot since 9:45 am. He also told deputies that nobody had permission to enter his vehicle.

At this time, no further details have been released.

What Does This Mean for you?

The best thing you can do is to remain vigilant even at Disney World. The deputies stated, “Burglary is a crime of opportunity, so don’t make it easy for criminals! We urge all of our residents and visitors – no matter where you are – to always lock up and stay vigilant.”

It is important to never leave valuables in the car, and be sure to lock your vehicle before heading out. Stay safe, crew!

Remember to stay safe and vigilant even at Walt Disney World. If you ever see something suspicious let a Cast Member know immediately.
