After Months Long Hiatus a Magic Kingdom Perk Returns

Magic Kingdom is the most popular theme park in the world! And, for good reason. With so many great attractions and a fantastic nighttime spectacular, many people love to visit. See which perk is returning after months on hiatus.

Magic Kingdom Parties

Magic Kingdom becomes very busy during the last few months of the year. From mid August until the end of October, Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Then, from early November until the end of December, the park transforms to holiday magic with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This means that on most nights from mid August until the end of the year, a party is happening.

And, this is so great! But, it also means a few other things fall to the wayside.

Perk Returning

Typically, Magic Kingdom hosts Extended Evening Hours on Wednesday evenings. This perk is just for deluxe resort Guests, and it gives them an extra two hours in the park after it closes.

If Disney were to host parties and Extended Evening Hours, the park would be open until 11:00/12:00 almost every night of the week. So, Disney decided to remove this perk at Magic Kingdom during party season.

But, we have great news! Extended Evening Hours returns to Magic Kingdom in early 2024!

Dates and Times

It appears the Wednesday schedule will resume in 2024. So far, January 3 is the first Wednesday date on the calendar. It does show Extended Evening Hours taking place from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Keep in mind if Disney extends evening hours, the Extended Evening Hours will also be pushed back. We publish changes to operating hours often, so we will keep you posted!
