Black cat lovers rejoice! Gideon’s Bakehouse is continuing their month long charity for cats during the month of October. If you are a lover of cats and especially black cats, a new cookie is available now for only a limited time.
Gideon’s Bakehouse
Gideon’s Bakehouse is one of the locations at Walt Disney World that people actually DO try and rope drop each morning! Rope dropping just for a cookie? It’s a real thing.
If you visit Disney Springs in the early mornings, you might be shocked to see a long line forming. It’s not for an attraction, but for these delicious, freshly baked cookies. Sometimes the demand is so high, Gideon’s Bakehouse will utilize a virtual queue for guests.
Black Cat Charity Month
October is a special month at Gideon’s Bakehouse. They are celebrating all month long by raising funds for Liberation Cat House. Earlier this month, guests could purchase a Benedict Picadilly print which benefited the organization.
The print and pins sold out pretty quickly, but other merchandise like t-shirts and tumblers are still available while supplies last.
Black Cat Cookie
The next charity item offered by Gideon’s Bakehouse for the month of October is the Black Cat Cookie. The new cookie is bursting with flavor! The Chocolate Sugar Cookie is filled with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting and rolled in crunchy Black Sugar Crystals!
The limited time cookie is available at both locations from October 20th through Sunday, October 22nd. There is a limit of just 2 cookies per person. A portion of the proceeds go to help all of the kitties. Due to the popularity of this new cookie, the sale has been EXTENDED until Wednesday, October 25th!
Peanut Butter Apple Galette
Another item available this weekend only is the Peanut Butter Apple Galette. This dessert is Peanut Butter Sauce baked with Fresh Cut Apples wrapped in a Buttery Housemade Pastry and topped with crunchy Peanut Butter Crumbs. If you are a lover of peanut butter, you will definitely want to try this dessert!
The Black Cat Cookie has now been extended to Wednesday, October 25th at both Gideon’s Bakehouse locations.
Adoption Event
If you want to help out the kitties even more, Gideon’s Bakehouse is also having an adoption event. Cats from Liberation Cat House of all shapes and sizes will be available for adoption from 10 am to 2 pm in the courtyard of the East End Market THIS SUNDAY, October 22nd.
October is the purrfect month to celebrate all black cats and why not celebrate by having some delicious cookies and maybe adopting a new furry friend? You might just end up with a new black kitty like my (Maggie) cat, Mickey, pictured above!
