It’s frustrating when you’re on vacation and certain rides cannot be reserved with Genie+. Now, Disney gives guests more options.
Genie+
There is so much to take in with the different levels of Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, and Individual Lightning Lanes. Be sure to check out Monica’s article where she helps explain each aspect of this system. And it can be hard to plan costs since Genie+ uses a variable pricing system.
It is supposed to help maximize your time, so you don’t spend the day waiting in queues, while simultaneously catering to your party’s interests and goals. The goal is to take the stress of planning away, but this certainly takes getting used to.
Using Genie+
With Genie+, start by selecting your favorite characters (Princesses, Star Wars, and Pixar among others), attractions, and more to create your itinerary. Here is a helpful tip: if you select your top priority attractions, it will be easier to see Lighting Lane options and standby wait times on the “My Day” portion of Genie. This will help you get the best return time possible!
Genie uses park data to show wait times and will update recommendations based on this data. This is essentially like Character Locator’s customized touring plans. Kenny’s pre-made plans can be modified to remove attractions, add new ones, and input your dining plans. However, Kenny’s plans are actually tested and proven, while this product is said to react in the spur of the moment.
New Attractions Being Added
While most attractions are included in Genie+, the most popular rides at Disneyland and Disney World aren’t available. Instead, they’re offered for an additional cost per person, per ride. It can be frustrating paying for Genie+ when these aren’t included.
However, that’s changing for 2 popular attractions soon! Disney just announced that Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland Park will soon be added to Genie+. (It’s already included at Disney World.)
And The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure will be added next month!
