Character Lines
One of the reasons guests love to attend holiday parties at Disney are for the characters! During these special events, rare characters that are not seen every day in the parks can often be seen.
However, because of the extreme popularity of such rare characters, one of the most important things to remember when planning for your party is to have a good touring plan. We at Kenny the Pirate often recommend getting to the party as early as possible if meeting characters is one of your top priorities.
Lines for rare characters, think the return of the 7 Dwarfs and characters from Winnie the Pooh, will likely have lines that can stretch to an hour or even more during the party.
Will DAS Be Available?
With lines being extremely long, some guests utilizing Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) might be wondering if this will be available during the party. DAS has usually not been available to guests during special events.
This year however, DAS will be available at select meet and greets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Cast Members were spotted today asking guests whether or not they had a DAS in lines to meet characters.
DAS is available for the following meet and greets:
- The Seven Dwarfs in Storybook Circus
- Meet Jack Skellington and Sally
- Meet Mickey at Town Square Theater
DAS will be available at select meet and greets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
This is great news for those guests who utilize this service. Hopefully, we will see this more often during special events because it can be a huge help to so many guests! Many guests have been asking to have this option available at parties for years.
What do you think of DAS being available to guests at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year? Do you utilize this service? Will this option being offered help you? Let us know in the comments below or share this post with a friend who utilizes this service.

I am a DAS guest and very thankful for the service. I would not be able to enter the parks without it. I agree that it is abused often. I have found that Universal will be moving to a third party company that will require a MDs note in the future. I feel that would be greatly needed at Disney. I always have an updated letter from my provider. It doent have my Diagnosis but states clearly what my limitations are.

Unfortunately, I think lots of people will abuse it just like they do now. It’s great for the ones that truly need it but there are plenty that are abusing it and that is why the regular lines aren’t moving. The line for the seven dwarves and jack and Sally are always extremely long. This is where it would be great for the one with das to have a person in their party hold their place in line and when they are close to getting up there, then they join them. For pictures, it’s usually not taking up anymore time. But when you are letting entire parties go ahead, then the regular line doesn’t move. Like i said, I really do understand for the ones that truly need it. I’m just tired of the abuse. I heard someone say oh I get it because of my migraines. Wth? I’ve had severe migraines since I was 18. I carry about 5 different meds with me (prescription), make sure to stay hydrated and if all that doesn’t work and I still end up with a bad one, I go back to the room. Why should someone need a das for this. I have add and anxiety. But I still have the world to contend with. My rant is over.
