We have a surprising update!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Refurbishment
Many people love to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster which launches guests in a “stretch limo” from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds.
Inside their Hollywood music studio, legendary rock band Aerosmith is wrapping up a recording session. When their manager tells them they’re late for a concert across town, the band invites you to ride along.
Hop into their gleaming limousine and speed off into the night as Aerosmith’s hard-rock harmonies fill the air. Buckle up before zooming through the city on this roller-coaster style attraction.
Speed through iconic Hollywood landmarks. Maneuver past traffic jams and swoop into 3 thrilling inversions—2 rollover loops and one corkscrew—as the wind races across your face.
Refurbishment
Back in December, we shared that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would begin a rather lengthy refurbishment. This was set to begin on February 20th, but this had a brief delay.
Disney did not give an exact reopening date. However, the closure is expected to last into the summer of 2023.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed in February 2023.
Surprise Update
We are hearing that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reopened over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Disney did not give us a specific date, and “summer 2023” is a pretty broad reopening timeline.
You may want to slow down before you rush over there though! Disney has not removed the refurbishment message on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster webpage. Also, there are still no wait times for the attraction listed on My Disney Experience.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster opened for Guests this evening, May 26.
It is very possible this is a soft reopening. If you will be there through the weekend, it is completely possible the attraction may not be operating as normal. Keep an eye on wait times (if they pop up) and talk to Cast Members if you have any questions.
