We are so excited that they have returned! Get ready for even more magic during your next trip to Walt Disney World.
Cultural Representatives
All of the amazing Cast Members that are part of the Cultural Representative Program are part of what makes Disney World (and especially Epcot) so great. Participants have the opportunity to share the unique culture and customs of their country with Guests while working different front-line, guest-facing roles.
They must authentically represent one of the countries or regions we have recreated in the look and feel of the Walt Disney World Resort. We know them best for the Cast Members who represent the countries in the World Showcase (although they are also located in other areas of Walt Disney World).
Unfortunately, Disney suspended the program when the parks closed in the spring of 2020. Last August, Walt Disney World welcomed back the first group of Cultural Representatives. Over the last several months, more and more representatives have returned throughout EPCOT.
New Representatives Return
EPCOT is not the only location to enjoy Cultural Representatives. Disney shares that over the last few weeks Cultural Representatives from various countries across Sub-Saharan Africa are now greeting guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Disney shares as part of our special one-year Disney International Program, these cast members help create authentic experiences and immerse guests in the diversity of their home countries through a combination of cultural and conservation-focused activities available at the resort.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a unique resort and offers a unique experience for guests. These representatives fill the resort lobby with rhythm and music throughout the day.

These representatives also serve as guides as guests enjoy four great overlooks for this resort. Be sure to visit one of the four savanna overlooks across Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge during your stay and meet some of the cultural representatives who can share first-hand knowledge about some of the over 200 hoofed animals and birds who call the Lodge home.
Finally, these representatives share their insights and stories of their home country while also sharing rich insight into the beauty of the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Jordan “Baz” Baszner, an education manager at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, shares, “For me, having these cast members here feels like we’re bringing the heart of the Lodge experience back. It’s amazing how excited the guests are to join them in these activities, and I’m inspired by the positive impact they’ve been making for guests and fellow cast members in less than a week since their return.”
What do you think of the return of the Cultural Representatives to the Animal Kingdom Lodge? Have you enjoyed seeing them in the past? Will you book a stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge to enjoy this rich cultural experience? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
