Magic Shots
Magic Shots are photos where the Disney PhotoPass Photographer adds a little magic to make the picture even more fun. They make for great souvenirs and memories from your visit to Walt Disney World.
Magic Shots can be taken at all four different theme parks. We love looking for them when we check out our Memory Maker photos in the My Disney Experience app!
Holiday Magic Shots in Magic Kingdom
If you are heading to the Magic Kingdom this holiday season, do not forget to look for special Magic Shots! You can enjoy photos with the Christmas Tree here or at any of the other trees in Disney Parks.
You will also find fun shots with nearly every PhotoPass photographer in the park. For example, most of them can add a little mistletoe to your photos!
Be sure to ask what shots are available! Many of them are spread across the parks beyond MK as well.
For example, if you head over to the PhotoPass Studio at Sir Mickey’s, you will find a fun opportunity to be photographed with a gift! This shot is also available at PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs and at the Grand Floridian!
Be sure to look for other shots with props around the parks. You might even find the Gingerbread man.
Magic Shots at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Don’t forget you can get special Magic Shots that are exclusive to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. They are not available at any other time, so be sure to prioritize them if you want them.
Be sure to check out your park map which will be marked with locations for PhotoPass photographers. Many of the shots are available around the castle. Just remember to ask your photographer to add the magic.
For example, you can find a fun little shot near the Haunted Mansion. Zero will appear in your photo.
Of course, there is some debate as to whether Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie. It seems as if Disney thinks it is both since references appear at both the Christmas and Halloween parties. However, for this shot, Zero has a candy cane to make it a bit more Christmas-y.
You can also find shots with special lighting effects like the one above. The candy cane swirls are delightful!
They are created by having a Cast Member run with a special light as the photo is being taken. Pretty neat, right?

Holiday Magic Shots in Epcot
If you have a Frozen fan in your life, be sure to head to Norway in World Showcase while you are in Epcot. There you will be able to take a picture with Sven and Olaf!
There are also plenty of cute Magic Shots around World Showcase. For example, you can add Chip and Dale to your photos.
Of course, Chip and Dale are available at every park. Epcot gives you another chance to find them!
Another piece of magic that you can find at all parks including Epcot is Tinker bell! She appears in her Christmas outfit, and lots of photographers will have her available.
All holiday shots are available starting now until January 7, 2023. So, you will have time to find them throughout the season.
