Disney promises a phenomenal day but cannot always deliver. A big glitch made for a rough start for Guests at Disney World.
Disney Genie Glitch
The first problems arose this morning as guests attempted to purchase Disney Genie before 7:00 am. When trying to purchase Disney Genie, guests were met with the following message, “Your selections aren’t loading at this time. Please refresh your screen or go back to the previous screen to try again.”
This is disheartening as resort guests may make their first Lightning Lane selections at 7:00 am. At 7:00 am, ALL parks showed up to check availability for attractions. Unfortunately, once you press the button to “check availability” the same error screen was given from above.
This glitch also affected the purchase of Individual Lightning Lane selections as well. For Rise of the Resistance, it displayed “Purchase for $15” but did not offer available times. Once pressed to purchase, the same error screen is displayed.
When checked at 7:15 am, times were then given to enjoy attractions or to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes. However, an error screen is given when a selection is made. At 7:23 am, selections could finally be made.
Virtual Queue
This big glitch also affects guests trying for a virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Even with a valid Park Reservation, I (Donna) was unable to join the virtual queue at 7:00 am or 7:20 am. I was directed to a screen showing that no one in my party is eligible.
At 7:23 am, I was finally able to join the virtual queue for this attraction. This is very frustrating for guests who are willing to pay for Disney Genie+ and for Individual Lightning Lanes only to experience this glitch. We are thankful that the issue is resolved, but this was a rough start for guests visiting Walt Disney World today.
This morning a glitch affected the ability to purchase Disney Genie, make Lightning Lane selections, Individual Lightning Lane selections, and join the Virtual Queue. This problem was resolved around 7:23 am.

Sometimes, when big glitches are seen, it’s a sign something is changing within the product. This may be a good sign. I worked in it and when we made a large change, to be rolled out at a latter date, sometimes it caused delays or resetting of current system. Let’s just hope this is a great sign and something good happening! Like no more 2:00pm park hopping rule, or the ability to make 3 reservations at a time? Think good thoughts!
