Some Guests are experiencing frustration with purchasing Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets

Select Guests are now able to purchase tickets to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, coming to Walt Disney World this fall! However, some Guests are experiencing frustration with trying to purchase these tickets. Here’s what we experienced, and what Disney says about this problem.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is back in 2022! This special party requires a separate ticket, and gets you a fun, not so scary night in Magic Kingdom!

Guests who purchase tickets for this spooky event can enjoy trick-or-treating around Magic Kingdom Park, rare character meets, an exclusive Halloween parade, Halloween fireworks, hosted by Jack Skellington, and fun Halloween-themed entertainment.

The Party will take place on select nights in August, September, and October. This event takes place from 7 p.m. until midnight, but ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4 pm.

Tickets go on sale May 18, but if you happen to have a Disney Resort Reservation booked during Party dates, tickets are on sale now!

Frustration for Guests purchasing tickets

For Guests eligible to purchase tickets early, the process hasn’t exactly been a smooth one.

It was not announced what time tickets would go on sale, so Guests began trying to purchase as early as 12:00 EST. Many Guests were successful at that time, and still continue to be.

But there are some who are having a lot of trouble. Many Guests are reporting that their ticket purchase is marked as “pending.” Guests who received this message also got an email stating their tickets are pending.

I (Jamie) also had this experience, much to my frustration. I assumed that the ticket purchase would come through a few minutes later, but still, at the time of this article’s publishing, my ticket confirmation has still not come through.

I was worried that maybe I had entered my payment information correctly, so I did put a call in to Disney, where I proceeded to wait on hold for over an hour.

The Cast Member I spoke to explained that ticket purchases made before 6:00 am were labeled as “overnight” transactions and would not begin being processed until 9:00 am. that day. She also stated that my tickets should show in My Disney Experience no later than 9:00 am tomorrow, May 13. I was then told if they are not there by then, I should go ahead and call them back to have the issue fixed.

One of the perks that comes along with being an Annual Passholder or a Disney Vacation Club Member is that these Guests receive a $10 discount on Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets.

In the past, this discount has automatically been applied when Guests are signed into My Disney Experience. However, this was not the case this morning when Guests tried purchasing their tickets.

Now, a special button has to be clicked to let Disney know you would like to purchase these tickets as an Annual Passholder or DVC member. If you do not indicate you would like to receive the discount, you will automatically be charged the regular price.

I ordered my tickets online at 4:45 am when I woke up. It said pending also. At 8, I was able to chat with something right away who told me that I would get an email later on which I did.

I must have been lucky. I went on at midnight and was able to get in. I purchased tickets for my family for two nights in august and was done by 12:20. It gave me my reservation numbers and the email immediately came through. I did however have the same thing happened to me when I purchased glow night tickets at 3:30 am on release day. It came up as pending and so did the email but by 9 or 10 that morning, the official email came through. It was definitely a better experience than buying last years tickets.

I went to purchase my tickets this morning a few minutes after 6:00 it said they were available, for my date in august I got an email saying pending my one for September went three no problem, I also called Disney (over an hour wait) and when someone answered they were no help at all they actually sounded annoyed with me and said told me that chances are I can’t afford it so Disney is waiting till my card clears but if enough people can “afford” the ticket and they sell out then there’s nothing I can do but try another day.

I couldn’t believe how he spoke to me he also then told me that the dining reservations for 60 days out are only for selected guests. I couldn’t believe anything of what happened this morning
