For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

Heading to Walt Disney World soon? This popular recreational activity will be receiving a closure. Read on to find out when guests can experience this!

Refurbishment

The word refurbishment can be a dreaded word for many Disney World guests and fans. No one likes to spend months planning a trip only to find your favorite attraction or resort you are staying at has refurbishment plans.

Unfortunately, these are needed to keep the Disney Parks in their best possible shape to avoid malfunctions and breakdowns. Sometimes they last only a few days or weeks while others may extend for months and months.

Expedition Everest JUST reopened! Guests are definitely happy to have that one return, even if the Yeti is still in B mode.

Even the mini golf course will get a refurbishment. To find out more information and when that closure will be read HERE.  For more scheduled refurbishments at Disney World, see our master list HERE.

Golf At Disney World

Did you know you could golf at Disney World? Disney World has some amazing golf courses! Four golf courses to be exact!

Three of the courses are 18 holes: Disney’s Magnolia, Disney’s Palm and Disney’s Lake Buena Vista. Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is a 9 hole course.

Not only can you play golf at Disney World, but you can get instruction, play foot golf and find exclusive Disney golf apparel.

Course Closure Coming Soon!

Per the Walt Disney World Golf website Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be closed indefinitely! This means that it will be an extended closure with no specific end date. Guests will be able to enjoy the front nine (holes #1 -#9) April 28, 2022 – May 8, 2022. Starting on May 9th all of Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be CLOSED.

The Walt Disney World Golf website states:

PLEASE NOTE!…During the dates of April 28, 2022 – May 8, 2022 only holes #1 – #9 will be available for play, and beginning on May 9, 2022 Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be closed indefinitely for a major renovation project.

We recommend that you play at either Disney’s Palm or Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course during this timeframe as we prepare Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course for your future enjoyment! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of this golf course, and look forward to welcoming you back to the newly re-imagined Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course later this year.

Golfers are encouraged to use Disney’s other courses during this time. The Magnolia Golf Course is one of my (Heather) favorites, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us when it reopens!

What do you think of this closure? Will you be impacted by it? Let us know on the Kenny the Pirate Facebook page. Don’t forget to join the KtP crew page, too!

It sounds to me like Disney is moving forward with the rerouting of Floridian Way, which would affect a portion of the Magnolia course. They filed the permits last October.
