Disney Fans have long awaited several Disney films that were to be released in movie theaters this past March and the months after. We have continued to update our readers as these release dates have been delayed, and we have even more news concerning delayed release dates.
Mulan
Probably the most anticipated Disney movie for my young princesses was that of the live action movie “Mulan.” I still remember getting chills as I watched the trailer for this film before the Princess half-marathon in February. I couldn’t wait for our family to watch the film in theaters March 27th. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 our entire world changed and movie theaters were closed.
Disney announced later that this film would be released on July 24th. As time passed, a new release date was given for August 21st. Today Disney released that this film will now be delayed indefinitely. We will continue to keep you updated when new information may be given for this film.
“Mulan” will now be delayed indefinitely.
Avatar Release Dates
By adding the land of Pandora to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney fans were elated to hear that 20th Century Fox and Disney were working to create 4 sequels for the film “Avatar.” As with “Mulan” these sequel films have also received delays.
- Avatar 2 was set to premiere on 12/17/21, but will now premiere on 12/16/22
- Avatar 3 was set to premiere on 12/22/23, but will now premiere on 12/20/24
- Avatar 4 was set to premiere on 12/19/25, but will now premiere on 12/18/26
- Avatar 5 was set to premiere on 12/17/27, but will now premiere on 12/22/28
Star Wars
The list continues to go on for the delay on Disney Pictures that also extend to the Star Wars films as well. Three untitled films were set to premiere beginning in 2022, but all 3 films will see release dates set a year later.
- Untitled Star Wars Film was set to premiere on 12/16/22, moved to 12/22/23
- Untitled Star Wars Film was set to premiere on 12/20/24, moved to 12/19/25
- Untitled Star Wars Film was set to premiere on 12/18/26, moved to 12/17/27
