More Changes Come to Theme Park Experiences for Walt Disney World

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

More changes are coming to the list of experiences that will be available once the Walt Disney World theme parks reopen. Read on to see which experiences have been removed from the list.

Yesterday, we shared a complete list of experiences and attractions that would be open once the parks reopen. It was encouraging to see that many attractions and experiences were still included. The list was definitely a lot more than I had expected.

We know that experiences such as parades, nighttime spectaculars, character greetings and playgrounds will not be available. Disney has mentioned that, “some experiences may be modified, limited in capacity and subject to availability or closure.”

More Changes

Last night, we have learned that two popular attractions at Animal Kingdom and Epcot have been removed from the list. Disney wasn’t kidding when they said some experiences may be modified, we just did not expect it to be so soon!

Disney has removed the following attractions from the previous list released yesterday.

  • Festival of the Lion King (Animal Kingdom)
  • Turtle Talk with Crush (Epcot)

Seeing both of these guest favorites is definitely disappointing, but it can be assumed that they were removed due to concerns over social distancing and keeping Cast Member and Guest health a priority.

Other amenities and experiences that will not be available can also be found here.

Seeing how the reopening of the theme parks is ongoing and news is being announced nearly every day, we can certainly expect this list to be modified again.

Please keep checking KennythePirate for any new announcements or park updates as we all are keeping a close watch for any new developments. It is also a good idea to continue checking Walt Disney World’s website for current information, especially if you have a trip planned in the next few weeks.

What do you think of these recent changes to the list of experiences? Do you have plans to visit the parks when they reopen? Tell us about it here or on our Facebook page.

Although I was surprised to see it on the list, yesterday, seeing that Festival of The Lion King will be unavailable is a sad day. I'm VERY curious as to how much, if anything, will change by September.

I'm wondering the same thing, especially since my visit isn't until mid-August.
