Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Extended, Begins in July!

Walt Disney World has kept us on our toes with all of the latests announcements regarding their phased reopening. Many of these announcements have been a bit disappointing, but tonight we offer some wonderful news from the Epcot.

Longest Festival Yet

Many fans of Epcot were disappointed that they missed the beautiful 2020 Flower and Garden Festival due to the Disney Park closures due to COVID-19.

Many Guests look forward to the Food and Wine Festival every fall, and this year we have a wonderful surprise. Epcot will now debut the Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival starting on July 15, 2020. This festival will continue throughout the fall in order to allow many guests to enjoy this year’s festival.

Many enjoy the “Eat to the Beat” concert series that is offered during the Food and Wine Festival. Due to social distancing and safety protocols, these concerts have been cancelled.

We are happy to report that even though these concerts will be cancelled, other great music may be enjoyed at the America Gardens Theatre with performances by Mariachi Cobre, the JAMMitors, and more. Entertainment will be offered throughout the day to allow for all Guests to enjoy them.

Other Seasonal Events?

Many Guests are already looking ahead to the Christmas season and wondering how Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays, with the Candlelight Processional, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party may be affected. At this time, Disney has not yet confirmed or modified either of these seasonal events.

Continue to follow our Pirate Crew as we bring new information regarding the reopening of Walt Disney World.

Hi I have two questions... first what are the crowd capacities being based on? Let’s say parks are only open to 50% capacity... from when? Same date last year? Maximum park attendance? Second do you think park crowd calendars will be the same based on last year? Or do you think all bets are off and we should just pick any park for any day randomly when reservations open? I love your site and appreciate all of the detailed information you provide us all! Thank you.

However it turns out, lesser amounts of the crowd are good. Crowds always tend to steal the Magic. Disney is always on top of major issues like this. 30 or so years of enjoying WDW has taught us to try to enjoy the Magic of it all no matter what !

This is one of THE most crowded events of the year in Epcot. Makes no sense to me to allow this to go on while cancelling just about everything else. We've been there when it was wall to wall people around WS.....

To know that the Food & Wine Festival will occur is fantastic news!! However, I am wondering what "A Taste of" means... Does this mean that there won't be nearly as many food booths? Will they have the crowd favorites from Food & Wine or will the food be more of the foods from Flower & Garden
