Walt Disney World launched a new pin trader’s scavenger hunt style adventure that is known as “PinQuest” today. It currently takes part in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World only, but could be expanded to Disneyland in the future. Here’s the details:
Guests will stop by Frontier Trading Post in Frontierland or Curtain Call Collectibles on Main Street and purchase the Adventure Kit which includes a lanyard, a lanyard pouch with a map and a decoder medal. You can also use the lanyard pouch to hold your 6 clue cards (purchased separately). After completing each of the clues/challenges, you return and are provided with a completer pin.
Here’s the cost for each piece of this special hunt:
Adventure Kit – $14.99
Clue Cards (6) – $9.99 each
Completer Pin – $4.99
Total cost would be $79.92 plus tax for the Lanyard and all pins.
“There are six different PinQuest clue cards. Each clue card has a question that needs answered and shared with a NavigatEAR Cast Member in a particular location. Once solved, you can redeem the clue card for a PinQuest pin using the perforated ticket on the bottom of the clue card.
Continue the hunt by using the decoder medal from the adventure kit. Line up the arrows for each pin to determine your next destination within Magic Kingdom Park.
After purchasing all six clue cards and receiving stamps and pins from each location, guests should return to either Frontier Trading Post in Frontierland or Curtain Call Collectibles on Main Street, U.S.A. At those designated locations, guests who have completed the entire Magic Kingdom PinQuest are eligible to purchase a QuestEAR pin completer pin (shown above).”
All items for this PinQuest are available while supplies last. These items will not be sold online or via the Shop Disney Parks mobile app. You’ll need separate admission to Magic Kingdom Park in order to participate.
My two teenage girls just completed this quest and really liked it a lot. The clues are not really too hard as the answers are in the same shop where you get the clue. Over our week-long trip, we were at the MK three times and each time, we went around to get a couple pins instead or running around all at once. A couple of the shops ran out of clues towards the end of the day, so be sure to do it earlier in the morning or afternoon.
Thanks!
How fun! I know my kids would love this!
Exciting!! My son is already looking forward to the SoMK and Pirate Adventure – this will be an awesome addition to his hunting AND his pin collection!!
I would love to do this, any chance it will still be going on by early December? We are there the 7th through the 10th. Tell us how much fun it is when you do it Kenny.
I think I will try it in October, hope they will still be doing it then.
$79.92 or $29.92? ;) I think that’s a bargain at 29, less so at 79.
This price is ridiculous! How many families w/more than 1 child who wants to do this can actually afford it? It’s like they’re trying to squeeze every last penny out of us. Shameful.
Not really, it’s pretty much just the cost of the pins and lanyard. Each clue card gets you another exclusive pin.
It’s about the same cost as buying the pins separately, but the completer is cheaper than normal.
So this is a one and done type thing? Do the clues change? Or are they all the same every time?
One and done at this time.
Wow can’t they have something like this with a discount. Everything is so expensive.
Yes, pricey!!! Really, we aren’t all millionaires!
It’s about the same cost as regular pins cost.
I’m in! Hope they still have it during our planned trip in December. Not too expensive for 8 pins and an adventure. I’ve paid more than $10 each for most of my pins anyway. :-)
Is there an AP or Disney Visa discount? And are you going to try it out and report back?
I would suspect regular discounts might apply.
Oh that looks fun yet pricey.
