What to Know About the Latest Disney World Dining Reservation Change

Disney makes an interesting change that will soon affect how you book select dining reservations. Find out what you need to know for this change.

For Cool KIDS' SUMMER, Disney shared that a brand-new character interactive experience is coming to Magic Kingdom with Jessie, Woody, and friends interacting with Guests at Jessie's Roundup.

Unfortunately, Jessie's Roundup took over Magic Kingdom's Diamond Horseshoe. Disney shared that, with Cool KIDS' SUMMER ending on September 8, 2026, dining will return to Diamond Horseshoe with a twist.

It appears that the beverage menu may outweigh the actual food options when Diamond Horseshoe reopens. You can see the full menu HERE.

Disney World Dining Reservation Change

Diamond Horseshoe will reopen at Magic Kingdom on October 4, 2026. Advanced Dining Reservations are available on September 29, 2026.

Typically, Advanced Dining Reservations open to Guests with a Walt Disney World Resort reservation 60 days prior to their check-in day at 6:00 am (ET). At that time, they can make dining reservations for the full length of their stay (up to 10 days).

For Guests without a Walt Disney World Resort reservation, Advanced Dining Reservations can be made 60 days prior to the date they plan to dine at 6:00 am (ET).

When dining reservations first open for Diamond Horseshoe on September 29, they will open at 8:00 pm (ET).

When Magic Kingdom's Beak Barrel was set to open in August 2025, the number of Guests vying for an Advanced Dining Reservation created a huge glitch, shutting down the entire dining reservation system.

Disney regrouped, and dining reservations reopened a week later, but instead of being offered at 6:00 am (ET) as with all dining reservations, Disney released these at 7:00 pm (ET).

Diamond Horseshoe dining reservations are available on September 29th at 8:00 pm (ET).

This change worked! Now, with the reopening of Diamond Horseshoe with its new menu, Walt Disney World shifts the timing of these dining reservations to 8:00 pm (ET). Hopefully, this will prevent a similar technical glitch as with Beak and Barrel last year.
