Every year, fans of Disney Parks delight in the magic of the Holidays. Some people love experiencing premium extras like the Christmas Party.

But others enjoy making a tradition of soaking up the magic that is all around. And some of that magic lies in Disney's impressive Gingerbread displays.

The most famous of these is the Gingerbread House at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The display drew crowds each year who came to see it, take photos, and purchase exclusive gingerbread goodies.

After 25 years, the era of the Grand Floridian Gingerbread house is coming to an end. Technically, one could say that the tradition ended last year. The house did not go up due to construction in the lobby in 2025.

Sadly, this year, Disney has no plans for the Gingerbread house to return in 2026. There are no plans for it to return moving forward, either.

Disney will reportedly replace the Gingerbread house with miniature gingerbread displays throughout the Resort.

Today, Walt Disney World released an official statement about this change. Disney shares, "To help keep the lobby flowing smoothly for Resort guests, the traditional large gingerbread house will not be offered this year."

This large, iconic gingerbread display did garner large crowds in the lobby. While we understand the reason behind it, it is still disappointing for many Disney guests.

  1. Feels like they are doing things to discourage resort hopping/visiting. We like to visit Grand, Poly, and Contemporary on our last day before going to the airport and definitely spend money buying snacks and souvenirs there. Always visited the gingerbread house when there that time of year. We don’t stay there because we are primarily park people and I can’t justify the cost into my budget and usually stay value or moderate. Maybe Disney would prefer just those patrons staying there be there.

  2. So because people enjoyed it too much, Disney has decided to discontinue it??? Like the dreamlights for the castle? Osborne Lights? D'Amaro is an Iger clone. Too bad.
