One of the main reasons guests choose to stay at a Walt Disney World resort is the benefit of staying within the "Disney Bubble." The idea behind the "Disney Bubble" is that once you arrive at Walt Disney World, you never have to leave the Disney magic.

While Disney works hard to create a magical environment for guests, things still happen outside of its control. A big example of this is the unpredictable Florida weather.

While the Disney Parks do not close for rain, this often creates attraction closures, cancels entertainment, and can even affect outside character interactions.

Another concern for guests visiting Walt Disney World is transportation. Although we have seen incidents in the past, it is safe to say that no one was expecting a vehicle crash to dampen their visit to EPCOT.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash at 6:40 am (ET) along EPCOT Center Drive. This 5-vehicle accident included a motorcyclist. According to Fox 35, the motorcyclist unfortunately passed away from this crash.

At this time, it is unclear the cause of the crash, nor if any other drivers and/or passengers were injured in this crash.

Traffic Closures

EPCOT Center Drive (also known as S.R. 536) was shut down to allow for a full investigation. All traffic is being redirected to East Buena Vista Drive or Osceola Parkway.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all affected by this traffic accident this morning. If you are traveling around Walt Disney World today, please use caution and watch for detour signs.
