McKim's Mile House - A Member Lounge began welcoming Members on March 18, 2025. This Member lounge is the first exclusive DVC Member lounge in the Magic Kingdom.

This lounge space was inspired by boarding houses that housed travelers during the Gold Rush.

The lounge, Disney Vacation Club McKim's Mile House - A Member Lounge, got its name as a tribute to Disney Legend Sam McKim. He was "a Western-film-star-turned-Disney Imagineer whose visionary artwork helped shape some of Disney's most iconic places in Frontierland and beyond."

Getting In

Disney Vacation Club McKim's Mile House - A Member Lounge is a first come first serve lounge. There are Cast Members outside the lounge checking Memberships and adding Members to the waitlist if the lounge has a wait.

One way to get your name to the top of the list is to purchase Membership Magic Beyond. This additional Member Benefit gives Members priority access to select Disney Vacation Club lounges when the lounges go on a waitlist. You can read more about this benefit and others that Membership Magic Beyond offers HERE.

When I visited the lounge, the Cast Member could not guarantee a return time. They took our number and would text me, once space was available. On this occasion, our wait was about 20 minutes.

Once our name was called, we checked in with the Cast Member, and we brought inside to another Cast Member. This Cast Member showed us to our seats. Members are given assigned seats, I really enjoyed this as it assures that your party has a seat.

A Look Around

The lounge is cozy, and only accommodates about 50 Members and their guests combined. The lounge operates from 11 am to 6 pm daily, but be aware that the waitlist could be closed earlier than this depending on demand.

Check out the video of the lounge below:

There were various types of seating throughout the lounge, which included table and chairs along with arm chairs and end tables. Some locations had charging stations, but not every seat had this.

The lounge provides a nice break from the bright Florida heat. I do like how Disney has transformed this space. Having a lounge and space to cool off in Magic Kingdom is a nice perk for Members.

Snack and Drink Options

One of the best perks of the lounge is free snacks and drinks! At the snack and drink station there are several baskets filled with various snacks. While we were there, we noticed that the options changed as items were taken. Snacks included various flavors of chips, granola bars, and prepackaged single cookies!

The snack and drink station also had two Keurig machines with various options for coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. There were also two Coke Freestyle machines, so your drink options were nearly endless!

Concerned about a food allergy? The Cast Members have you covered! If none of the snack options that are out are safe for you or your travel party, check with a Cast Member as they have special Allergy Friendly options put aside.

We were able to pick from a couple of different snack options including Apple Chips and Home Free Cookies!

Final Thoughts

This Member Lounge is a nice addition to the Magic Kingdom, however, I do wish it was a bit bigger or had longer hours to accommodate more people. The space was nice and I LOVED the decor and feel Disney did a great job blending this into the already existing space.
