Should You Visit Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Just For The Rides?
Mickeys' Not So Scary Halloween Party is a hard ticketed event that is unlike an ordinary day at the Magic Kingdom. But, is it worth it to go during a party just for rides? See what we think.
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party includes trick-or-treating throughout the Magic Kingdom and exclusive entertainment such as the ever-popular Halloween parade, stage shows, and fireworks displays!
You still can visit the Magic Kingdom and enjoy the decorations during the Halloween season with a regular park ticket, but if you want to enjoy all the fun Halloween events, you will need a party ticket.
This exclusive event runs on select nights now through October 31st. It is selling out fast, so be sure to get your ticket soon! Click HERE to see what party dates are still available.
Things You Would or Could Miss

The party boasts that the event only has a limited amount of tickets, however it can still feel crowded and lines can be long at certain locations throughout the event.
One big draw to the party is exclusive entertainment and rare characters.
The fireworks are a can't miss as they surround the park during Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular is stage show featuring the Sanderson Sisters. Favorite Disney characters are out in their Halloween best.

Rare characters even arrive just for this party including Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Mickey and Minnie meeting together in their Halloween costumes to name a few.
Another exclusive party experience is the Boo to You parade. The parade is about 20 to 25 minutes. This parade is filled with your favorite characters, villains, and even the Haunted Mansion's Grave Diggers.
Rides During The Party

During Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween, select attractions have a special ride overlay exclusively for party goers. These rides include The Haunted Mansion, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Space Mountain, and the Mad Tea Party.
Even with these party-themed overlays, the wait time for attractions tend to be shorter than a regular park day. Guests have so much exclusive party entertainment, that many Guests do not venture to the rides or only do a select few.
Is it Worth It to Go to The Party Just For Rides?

The answer: it can be, but it depends! The parties that are in August and early September are cheaper than parties in late September or October. If you are traveling with an Annual Passholder or DVC Member, they can receive a discount on select nights.
A Magic Kingdom day ticket, is more expensive than the other three parks. With the price starting at $139 plus tax for an adult. You can see the list of prices for the Halloween party HERE.
This could be a more affordable way to visit the Magic Kingdom to ride attractions and even get a bit of Halloween festivities.
What We Did

It is very important to arrive to the party as close to 4 PM as possible to get the most out of your ticket. We arrived shortly after 4 PM. Once inside the park, we got our bracelet, bag of candy and FULL size candy, and we were off to conquer as many rides as we could!

During the party we enjoyed:
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Tiana's Bayou Adventure
- Haunted Mansion
- Jungle Cruise
- Tron
- Space Mountain
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Under the Sea- Journey of The Little Mermaid
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (TWICE!)
Attraction availability is always subject to change.
We could have enjoyed even more attractions, but chose to take in some of the party exclusive activities as well. We went through a couple of treat trails, which had Donald Duck and Maleficent greeting Guests while waiting in line.

We enjoyed some party exclusive bites. Read HERE to see what we thought. We even found the perfect spot for the Boo To You Parade.
After our last ride on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, we strolled through an empty Fantasyland. With the party over, we got some fun and practically empty shots of Main Street. We even got a late night snack as Main Street Confectionery closed at 1 AM.
Final Thoughts

For this girls' trip, we took advantage of the 3-Day 3-Park ticket that is currently being offered. Even though this ticket offer comes with a great price ($89 per day plus tax), it does not offer a visit to Magic Kingdom. We opted to add on the Halloween Party to be able to visit all four parks.

We had nearly 8 hours in Magic Kingdom! If you take advantage of a ticket offer, adding on a party could be a great way to visit Magic Kingdom. A three day ticket with Park Hopper is over $450 plus tax! This was a great way to add on Magic Kingdom, but the party ticket and day ticket prices have to be right.
