One shop in Magic Kingdom has been closed for years! Disney just announed an opening date. Find out when Guests can enjoy this shop again.
Frontierland Changes

Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland has several big projects in the works. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland is still undergoing a lengthy refurbishment, and very soon, the closure of Tom Sawyer Island to make room for Cars Land.
Even with all this refurbishment, we are happy to share that one shop inside Frontierland will be welcoming back Guests soon!
Prairie Outpost Reopening and Changes

Prairie Outpost, located in Frontierland inside Magic Kingdom, has been closed since 2020. Before its closure, Prairie Outpost sold delicious candies and sweet treats.
Earlier this month, we shared that the Prairie Outpost would be reopening. At the time of the announcement, Disney only shared that it would be opening “soon” and no date was announced.
Prairie Oupost will no longer be selling sweet treats when it reopens. Instead Guests will find a hat shop. Disney describes this shop as, “Become a fashion pioneer when you shop for wide-brimmed hats, classic fedoras, customized headwear, and more at this stylish shop in Frontierland.”
Opening Date Announced

We now have an official opening date for Prairie Outpost! Prairie Outpost will open on Monday, June 30, 2025!
Prairie Outpost will open on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Now at Prairie Outpost, Guests will find fun and fashionable headwear versus those grab-and-go treats. We are excited to see this shop reopen since its closure over five years ago.
