This Magic Kingdom Attraction is Getting Closer to Reopening

This Magic Kingdom attraction that is currently closed for a multi-month refurbishment has now moved one step closer to reopening. Find out which ride and what we know!

Astro Orbiter

Astro Orbiter is located in Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. It is a Dumbo-style spinner attraction that will whisk you high into the sky. The person in the front controls how high or low you fly.

Astor Orbiter offers a great way to get views of the castle and Tomorrowland!

The attraction closed for a multi-month refurbishment on January 13, 2025, with only a reopening date of summer 2025.

Ride Testing

Astro Orbiter was dismantled and a multi-month refurbishment closure took place. The attraction is now fully back together! Even the crane has been removed from the area.

It has been reported that ride testing has begun for Astro Orbiter.

It has been reported that Astro Orbiter is now performing ride testing! This is exciting news as it means Astro Orbiter is one step closer to welcoming back Guests.

When Will Astro Orbiter Open?

Unfortunately, even with the ride testing occurring, Disney has not announced an official reopening date. On Disney’s website, Astro Orbiter is listed as closed through mid-August (as far as Disney’s calendar goes).

We will be sure to share the reopening date of this attraction as soon as Disney announces it. We are hopeful it is soon with all the progress we have seen!
