One of the best ways to celebrate Earth Day is right at Walt Disney World! There is no better way to get up close and personal with wildlife and appreciate all of the nature surrounding you than at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

During Earth Week, Disney World has fun offerings to commemorate the celebration. Be on the lookout for rare characters, delicious treats, fun Magic Shots, and more!

Characters

Here at Kenny the Pirate, we love meeting rare characters. Earth Day at Animal Kingdom gives Guests a great opportunity to meet and interact with characters that do not regularly meet in the parks.

In past years, there have been multiple rare characters meeting on the days surrounding Earth Day. However, this year it seems the lineup has been shortened.

Character Meetings

Earth Day takes place on Tuesday, April 22nd, but Animal Kingdom is starting the celebration now. Beginning today, Guests can meet Tinkerbell and Fawn. You will find them greeting Guests together in The Tree of Life Garden (across from Creature Comfort Starbucks).

It has been reported that the fairies, Tinkerbell and Fawn, will be the only rare characters meeting for Earth Day this year.

It has also been reported that the duo will meet daily through April 22nd, which is also shorter than in years past (usually meeting for about a week).
