Guests pay a premium to skip the line with both the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and the Single-Pass. However, there is a recurring problem that continues to frustrate guests. Check out the full details before purchasing either of these Lightning Lane passes.
Lightning Lane Passes

Walt Disney World made a change from the previous Disney Genie+ to the new Individual Lightning Lane system, allowing guests to skip the traditional standby line for a fee. The new Lightning Lane Multi Pass is very similar to the previous Disney Genie+ with a few exceptions.
Onsite Guests can purchase and make selections 7 days ahead of their arrival date. Offsite Guests will be able to do so 3 days ahead. Guests can still purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the day of their visit but will not see the same availability if purchased earlier.
Overall, guests enjoy the ability to plan ahead, which is an improvement from the previous Genie+ option. However, technical glitches continue to be an issue for guests using the Lightning Lane.
Lightning Lane Problems

A couple of weeks ago, we shared that guests who had purchased Lightning Lane Multi-Pass were experiencing frustration as they were unable to modify their Lightning Lane selections. Guests continued to see the above picture, stating that “Something went wrong” with a prompt to reload.
Unfortunately, this technical glitch continued for a couple of hours and greatly affected its usefulness for the guests using this. Today, guests are experiencing another technical glitch.
Guests who have a Lightning Lane Multi-Pass have the option to modify their arrival time. This can be very helpful to get earlier return times for your favorite attractions. However, today, as you go to modify your return time, an error pops up saying, “Are you sure you want to go back?” (to the previous screen). This glitch makes it impossible to select a different arrival time.
Is Lightning Lane Worth the Price?

At its best, Lightning Lane is very helpful when navigating the park with higher crowds. The big elephant in the room (and no we are not referring to Dumbo) is that Disney is notorious for technical glitches.
Guests are unable to modify their Lightning Lane return time…again.
With two problematic glitches occurring so close together, we hope Disney will try to correct this issue. This is definitely something to consider if you are on the fence about purchasing Lightning Lane for your next Disney trip. Be sure to check out our honest review of using Lightning Lane HERE.
