Space Mountain is a really fun coaster that can be found in several Disney parks around the world. However, it will be closing temporarily in one park.
Refurbishment
“Pardon our Pixie Dust” is Disney’s polite way of alerting Guests that something is not quite right. But, Disney fans know that the phrase is pretty much the equivalent of saying, “You aren’t going to like this very much.”
You see, fans consider the phrase to be a bit of a downer because typically they know it means that an attraction, restaurant, pool, resort area, etc. is temporarily closed or down for maintenance or undergoing a refurbishment.
Sadly, refurbishment is an important part of the world of theme parks! Space Mountain at Disneyland Park will soon be added to the refurbishment list.
Space Mountain
Space Mountain will be closing soon for refurbishment. This rollercoaster constantly attracts fans whether they want to ride it for the first time or the 101st time. So, it is likely that its absence will leave a gap in some plans.
This closure will begin in Disneyland on August 5, 2024. Hopefully, it will be brief, and the classic coaster will be up and taking travelers to conquer space again soon!
And, so far, no reopening date has been posted. Hyperspace Mountain has come and gone, so this refurbishment appears to be for something else.
What does this mean for you?
Space Mountain at Disneyland Park is, arguably, much better than Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. For this reason, if you are a seasoned Disney World veteran but visiting Disneyland for the first time, you will be disappointed if you don’t get to ride.
Experiencing both US versions of Space Mountain is a must!
Hopefully, the attraction will be back up and running sooner rather than later. We will keep you up to date when Disney announces a reopening date!
Are you visiting Disneyland after August 5? Are you disappointed Space Mountain will be closed? Let us know in the comments below. And, share this post with someone who is also visiting Disneyland.
