New Epcot Construction Closes Off Area of the Park

Epcot construction seems never ending. Disney recently put up new walls that close off an area of the park. Here are the details so you can adjust plans during your visit.

Epcot has been in a state of transformation since late 2019 when the first construction walls went up. Since then, they added new attractions like Moana, Journey of Water; Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure; and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

There have also been new restaurants, new fireworks shows, a new statue, and so much more. The transformation is almost complete! We are just waiting on CommuniCore Hall and Plaza this year.

Speaking of CommuniCore, some construction in this area is affecting the walkways that are open for Guest use.

The walkway from Imgination Pavilion to the World Showcase and World Celebration is closed. Disney installed construction walls in the area, which look to be accomodating the CommuniCore area, which is where meet and greets and other eents will take place.

Signs on the wall instruct you where to go, and Cast Members are around if you need assistance.

Don’t worry if you are worried about missing out on the Lion King topiary that is usually in this area! It has been moved near the front of the Imagination Pavilion.

How long will this last?

This closure is fairly recent. Our team was in Epcot late last week and did not notice the walls.

The walkway from Imagination Pavilion to World Showcase and World Celebration is currently closed for an unknown period of time.

Disney has been very vague about when CommuniCore will open. It is set to open sometime this year, but we are unsure how long Disney will need to keep this walking path closed to accommodate the construction.
