For several years, guests enjoy the immersive Land of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is one of the most immersive and beautiful lands Disney has created in the last several years.

In 2023 James Cameron’s film Avatar Way of Water became the 4th biggest film and has had tremendous success. On the wave of this success, Disney CEO, Bob Iger, shared plans that an Avatar experience will come to Disneyland. This announcement was first made back in February 2023.

Over the past year, little to no news has emerged from this announcement. We did hear about a possible placement for this attraction back in November.

After almost a year after this announcement, we finally see positive progress. Today Jon Landau, producer for Avatar movies visited Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California.

Landau shared the experience on his Instagram account, “Had a great day at @waltdisneyimagineering talking about the future.” Both James Cameron and Jon Landau were key creators in working with Walt Disney Imagineering to create the World of Avatar.

Our very own Kenny the Pirate was able to meet with Jon Landau when Flight of Passage first opened. The news that Landau is now collaborating with Walt Disney Imagineering is great news for the future of Disney Parks.
