World Celebration is finally open at EPCOT! Some walls finally came down, and you will notice that walking through the park just got a whole lot easier. Take a look at this new and inviting area of the park that we have all been waiting to see.

By now, we are all familiar with the ongoing transformation of EPCOT. For years, guests have navigated through walls of construction as Disney Imagineers have been hard at work transforming areas of the park.

With the recent openings of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, guests can see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

However, we still have one pretty huge area of the park that is still undergoing construction. Communicore Hall and Communicore Plaza will be a major area in EPCOT where guests can meet Mickey Mouse and his pals. The area will also serve as an exhibition space for EPCOT’s major festivals. Disney has shared that the area is now expected to debut sometime in 2024.

In honor of Walt Disney’s birthday on December 5th, World Celebration opened to guests! Cast Members and guests were excited to see these walls finally come down. The wide open area is a great spot for guests to explore, relax and come together.

On the morning of the opening, guests found themselves in a new queue. However, this queue was not for an attraction. It was to view the new ‘Walt the Dreamer’ statue in Dreamer’s Point.

I (Maggie) was there and it took about 50 minutes just to get a glimpse of the new statue!

The statue is in the center of two plaques. On the left hand side, the plaque reads that the “Walt the Dreamer” statue is “Dedicated to all who dream of a better tomorrow” with the opening date, December 5, 2023.

On the right, a plaque reads, “…always be in a state of becoming.” – Walt Disney.

World Celebration is now open to all guests at EPCOT!

The new area and World Celebration Gardens is a beautiful and welcoming area just behind Spaceship Earth. Guests may even find some characters greeting guests. On the day of the opening, Daisy Duck and Pluto were meeting with guests.

Guests will notice that they can now walk directly between World Nature and World Discovery. You no longer have to take a journey around the walls to get where you need to be!

The area is very close to Connections Cafe and what will become Communicore Hall. One thing guests might also appreciate are convenient charging points to charge your phone or other devices during the day. If there is one thing you need at Disney, it’s a good place to recharge.

We are so happy to see this area finally open to guests! What do you think of World Celebration at EPCOT? Have you visited yet? Will you be making sure to see this area on your next trip? Let us know in the comments below or share this post with a friend who is excited to see it.
