Fort Wilderness first welcomed guests back in November 1971 and has truly been a hidden gem for Disney guests ever since. Many great activities and amenities at this resort can keep guests entertained for days. Some guests never even step foot in the Disney Parks because of the amazing amenities of this resort.

Guests can choose from lodging in cabins or at the campsites. This includes tent camping along with RV lots as well. Recently, Disney shared that Disney Vacation Club will take over the Cabins that are at The Fort.

Disney quickly began work on this new endeavor bringing a fresh look to 350 cabins. Today during the DVC Annual Condo Association Meeting, we see a first look at this newly designed space.

To be honest, the outside look is a bit hit or miss for us. This concept was shown earlier when the work was first announced. Many were sad that the rustic look of the cabins would be replaced with this modern look.

The great news is that this is our first look inside The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and we are in love. For reference, the above photo was taken of the previous Fort Wilderness Cabin living room.

We love the modern function of the Murphy pull-down bed but also the rustic camping style.

Special thanks to DVC Fan for sharing these images.

We can’t wait to see more images from these newly designed cabins. These cabins are now set to open in Summer 2024. Even if you are not a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Member, you can still stay at these cabins. Be sure to check out our guide to renting DVC points HERE.
