Earlier this year, Universal announced that they would be opening a year-round horror experience in Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps. Universal is well known for its Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando, Hollywood, Singapore and Japan, which are immensely popular for those who like to be scared out of their pants!

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is an annual Halloween-themed event at Universal Studios theme parks. The first experience began in Florida as a three-day event in 1991. Its success has led to the present day, where themed haunted houses, scare zones, and shows run on select nights from September until late October and into early November.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Universal is looking to expand the franchise beyond the Halloween season and each of its designated parks.

President of New Ventures for Universal Destinations and Experienced, Page Thompson, made the following remarks when releasing the experience’s new name.

Universal Horror Unleashed is another way we are using our unique style of horror storytelling to engage fans of this genre. We look forward to bringing frightful fun to Las Vegas year-round.

What will make this immersive experience more unique, situated in the Area 15 entertainment district of Las Vegas, is that horror experiences will change occasionally. Seasonal events will take place, and interestingly enough, themed dining experiences will be available. Universal has also promised that there will be “one-of-a-kind merchandise.”

Furthermore, Universal promises “a new level of experiential entertainment.”  Universal Horror Unleashed will be in a 110,000-square-foot space and off the central Las Vegas Strip on Rancho Drive.

Universal knows how to do Halloween. Therefore, I can only imagine the creativity that will go into creating Universal Horror Unleashed. Only time will tell! We will continue to update as we receive more information!
