It’s a magical day as the fifth Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Wish, has arrived at its brand new home. Although it arrived early in the morning, two very happy mice were present for its arrival!
Disney Wish
The Disney Wish is the fifth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and is the baby of the family. The Disney Company had originally anticipated the Wish to first set sail in June 2022, but it was pushed back by six weeks due to construction delays at the shipyard as an occurrence to Covid.
Because of the delay, the Disney Wish’s maiden voyage is taking place on July 14, 2022. However, before it can sail on the high seas of the ocean it is customary to christen the ship. This will take place on June 29, 2022 at 11 am EST.
After completing its five day maiden voyage, the Disney Wish will sail three and four night itineraries from Port Canaveral to Nassau in the Bahamas and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
The Disney Wish Arrives in Port Canaveral
After years of waiting, the Disney Wish finally arrived at the Disney Cruise Line Terminal at Port Canaveral on June 20, 2022 at 5 am EST.
Hundreds of Disney World Cast Members and Disney Cruise Line fans gathered at the port to welcome the new ship. Among them was none other than Captain Mickey and Minnie Mouse who greeted the Wish alongside a pyrotechnic welcoming!

The arrival of the Disney Wish has many guests excited as it will include state of the art technology through the ship from the dining restaurants, to around the ships, the kids club and many other areas! We can’t wait to see what this beautiful ship has in store while sailing on the high seas with Mickey and his friends!
