Unfortunately, Disney has had several shake ups within the leadership of the company. Most recently, Geoff Morrell, senior executive Vice President and chief corporate affairs officer stepped down. You can read more about this HERE.

Despite the change in leadership and wide criticism that Disney has received for speaking out on political topics, the board has supported Bob Chapek. In an email sent out, Disney’s chairwoman of Disney’s board, Susan E. Arnold has stated the following:

“The strength of the Walt Disney Company’s businesses coming out of the pandemic is a testament to Bob’s leadership and vision for the company’s future,” she said. “In this important time of business growth and transformation, we are committed to keeping Disney on the successful path it is on today, and Bob and his leadership team have the support and confidence of the Board.”

Various online sources are now reporting that he has been fired from The Walt Disney Company today. According to The New York Times, Disney is expected to announce later today that Mr. Rice will be replaced by Dana Walden, who has been chairwoman for entertainment for Walt Disney Television. No official statement has released at this time from Disney.

Totally agree! Having to use all these apps and live on your phone in the parks. See how many Genie+ rides you get and when you want them. It all sucks! The crowds are terrible. Also agree with JW. Many need to go! I am a DVC member and my AP just came up and I did not renew it as I am also one who does not live any where near Orlando. Just not supporting them with my money to support the mess they have made.

Let’s go for a clean sweep starting with the chairman of the board who seems to think chapek is doing a great job. How about the entire board take a trip to the parks. Load the disney app on their phones and Let them loose. Let them try to use the genie plus and ask them at the end of the day if they had a great time

Sounds like all top leadership needs replaced...they are all delusional if they don't get why some of their most loyal fans are so upset. And I say this as one of them + a stockholder + a DVC member for 20 yrs + and an annual passholder (who lives nowhere near Orlando). Wake up Disney!
