The Disney Genie+ is a paid feature that allows Guests to choose a next available time to arrive at a variety of attractions and experiences using the Lightning Lane entrance.

This sounds a lot like the FastPass system that we used to enjoy for FREE. Disney Genie+ will cost $15 per person per day at Disney World and $20 per person per day at Disneyland.

Check out when Disney Genie will launch at Walt Disney World HERE.

We have been going to Disney World for the past 28 years. We just went for the 50th anniversary and I have to say I was disappointed to see that they are going to price gouge for access to the most popular rides. My kids grew up on Disney and now my grandkids are big fans. I honestly don't think I will be making our annual trip to Disney next year. I'd rather spend my money at Universal than spend extra money on top of the genie pass to ride our favorite rides. Disney executives have made it impossible for the average American family to make memories at Disney parks. Shame on you! I'm sure Walt Disney would not be on board with these policies

Going in November. Definitely going to pony up the extra for Genie Plus. Depends on pricing for Premium rides though. And if I pay, it better be as close to a walk on as possible. No more than 5 minute wait.

Our family gets to go once every 3-4 years. We will gladly pay extra to get shorter lines which gives you the opportunity to do more rides. We are there at rope drop until park closes. To balance out the extra expenses we rent a house and spend less on meals by doing only over the counter meals. The more people who dont want to pay extra will just make our lines shorter!

I think either the whole idea needs to be scrapped or they should have brought back the Fast Passes as they were. I was there during a busy time recently and the lines were not bad at all. Fast Passes only slowed down the lines and now Disney will slow down the lines on purpose to make more money. I hope people will boycott the new system. At some point we all need to vote with our pocketbook, but sadly I know the very wealthy will not care about this and will buy into it. Disney execs are just trying to price out the average middle income families which is so horrendous as those are the very families that have built this company. The dedicated Disney fan family that faithfully goes once or twice a year, spends a bundle on merch and food, and yet somehow Disney views these families as undesirable. Just sad Disney!
