Finding Nemo the Musical

Just yesterday we shared that three shows have been removed from the list of attractions on the Disney World website.

Finding Nemo: The Musical, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid are nowhere to be found on this entire list – not even the closed list!

We were unsure what exactly this meant for these shows. Would they be permanently cut with new replacements? Is Disney planning to modify the show? Now we have our answers!

Disney describes Finding Nemo the Musical as:

Extraordinary live musical performances, delightful puppets, vibrant sets and wondrous underwater special effects immerse you in Nemo’s fin-tastic world. Join the overprotective clownfish Marlin and his forgetful friend Dory as they search for his son, Nemo.

Announcement from Disney

Here is the official announcement, straight from Disney Parks Blog:

“Finding Nemo — The Musical” has been delighting our guests since 2007, and I’m excited to tell you a reimagined show, based on the same beloved characters, will debut in 2022.

Although our Disney Live Entertainment team is still in the early stages of development for the show, the musical retelling of this underwater tale of family, friendship and kindness will feature new story material, as well as fan favorite songs such as “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow.”

It appears the show will be presented in modified format just like A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King. Disney is making adjustments as needed during a time when things can be very uncertain.
