Harmonious brings the world together with musical artists from all over the globe. This amazing nighttime spectacular is set to debut in less than 2 months, and Disney is sharing a new look at the music for Harmonious. What do you think of the show so far?
We are eagerly anticipating the debut of Harmonious at Epcot this fall. Originally set to debut last spring, the show has been on pause during the pandemic. It is now part of the 50th anniversary celebrations at Disney World.
The show is set to be one of the biggest and best Disney has ever put on for Guests. It “celebrates the music of Disney and its ability to unite us all, bridging cultures and generations to unlock the magic of possibility.”
Music for Harmonious
Familiar Disney songs are part of the show with performers from all over the world singing the songs in their native languages.
According to Disney, the soundtrack for “Harmonious” was produced remotely through more than 100 separate recording sessions in nine different countries and five states. In total, nearly 240 musicians, artists, composers, arrangers, cultural consultants, and vocalists contributed to the unique and wholly authentic sound of the show.
Songs from movies like Coco, Princess and the Frog, Jungle Book, and Aladdin are all featured in Harmonious. The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Lion King, Brave, and Mulan hits are all included in the show as well. This show is sure to bring out all the emotions and nostalgia for those lucky enough to see it in person.
“Harmonious” opens with an inspiring medley of “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and “Go the Distance” from Hercules, performed by Danny Gokey and vocalists Elisha Garrett and Ninet Tayeb (I’m getting some Happily Ever After vibes).
The show builds to a finale that unites everyone around World Showcase and from around the world, as many of the musical artists come together to perform a poignant and powerful song, bringing “Harmonious” to an emotional close.
