Disney takes a deeper dive into the changes at Epcot

Disney Imagineers have provided us with some additional snapshots of upcoming projects including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Harmonius and the redesign of Future World. Here’s the details.

Future World will cease to be called by that term in the future. Instead it will be divided into three areas. The area where Test Track sits will be known as World Discovery and will include the new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster and the Play Pavilion as well as Mission: Space and Test Track.

When speaking of the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster, Disney stated, “We’ve just recently put a few of the attraction’s vehicles on the track for initial “push/pull” testing, which you can see happening in the photo above. When it’s ready, this is going to be a great adventure for families to take together.”

The area where Soarin’ is located will be known as World Nature and will include the Seas with Nemo and Friends, The Land and and the Imagination Pavilion. Which leads me to wonder what will happen with Imagination if the theme will be “Nature.” It will also host the new Moana water play area.

Moana's "Journey of Water" Attraction Has an Opening Timeline!

The Center section of the current Future World area will become World Celebration and will host a redesigned Spaceship Earth, a new welcome fountain and a re-designed center area. The new welcome fountain has already received the new pylons and will also feature some new lighting for Spaceship Earth.

EPCOT will also feature a new nighttime spectacular that will be known as Harmonious. Disney has stated that it will be “one of the largest shows ever created for a Disney park. But as you can see in this new artist concept rendering, it will provide a new energy to the park during the daytime, too, with fountains out on the lagoon.”

Disney also shared the new entry area for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure which will open in the France pavilion in 2021. The beautiful marquee has been completed and looks amazing. I’ve experienced this attraction a couple of times in France. It’s a fun, whimsical ride onboard an oversized rat. You’ll be journeying from rooftop to rooftop and zig-zagging through the kitchen and restaurant on this zany ride. It will be fun for the whole family.

Sounds like it’ll all be beautiful! A little concerned about my beloved Figment fitting into Nature, I hope they don’t take him away. Was there last week and all the construction in the front half of the park is daunting so I can’t wait to see it all done!
