Recently runDisney announced that the 2021 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend would be moving to a virtual race. Those who hadn’t registered will soon be able to. Check out all the details below!
Virtual WDW Marathon Weekend
Just today, runDisney released that they will not be hosting the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in person. They have given runners the option to change to a virtual experience or a full refund. For all the details read HERE.
With the races moving to virtual, runners are now able to see race themes along with different pricing options! Check them all out below!

Kids Dashes
The Kids Dashes were not open during the original registration period. When registration opens, parents will now be able to sign up their little ones for a virtual race. Here are the dashes below:
- 100-Meter Dash – 1-4 years old
- 200-Meter Dash – 5-8 years old
- Diaper Dash for Crawlers – 12 months and under
Each participant in the Dashes will receive:
- Commemorative Finisher Medallion
- Short Sleeve Cotton Event Shirt
- Personalized Digital Bib and Finisher Certificate
- Digital Race Tool Kit featuring printable Start & Finish line
- Digital Goodie Bag
This virtual race is set for Saturday, January 9, 2021. Parents can sign their children up for this race for $20 for each Dash distance.
Kids One Mile Run
Just like the Kids Dashes, the Kids One Mile run was not open during initial registration. This will be available when virtual registration opens. This race will cost $30.
Children between the ages of 4 to 13 years old can participate in the Kids One Mile Run. Each runner will receive:

WDW 5K

One race isn’t enough for you? How about completing all four? From Thursday, January 7 – Sunday, January 10, 2021 runners will cover all four distances of the Walt Disney World. Finishers will receive 6 Medals Total: 4 Finisher Medals, plus 2 Challenge Medals.
Runners need to register for the Dopey Challenge to be eligible for the Challenge Medal. There is no exclusive Goofy Race and a Half option this year, although runners will still receive this challenge medal. Runners can choose from:

The Medals
runDisney always has some pretty amazing medals! Unfortunately, runners won’t be wearing them around Disney World this January, but they will still help you show off your accomplishment!
Registration
Already registered participants will have the option to change their races to virtual. If you have not registered yet and would like to additional registration opportunities will open on a limited basis on Thursday, September 24 at 10 a.m. Eastern time.
