This official Disney recipe for the apple pie from Whispering Canyon Cafe looks incredible! Check it out and let us know what you think!
Who does not love apple pie? It’s so tasty. It’s so American. I bet it even tastes better at Disney World.
We were supposed to eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe during our now-rescheduled Disney trip, and I was really bummed because I had heard (and seen!) so many great things about this apple pie.
Imagine my delight when I stumbled across the recipe, straight from Disney! This will have to tide me over until our next trip!
Where and What is Whispering Canyon Cafe?
Whispering Canyon Cafe is located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and is celebrating its 26th anniversary this month! Hopefully there will be a belated celebration when Walt Disney World reopens.
The restaurant itself is very cozy like you might expect at a lodge. With a large fireplace, a log roof, and cowboy artwork adorned on the walls, you’ll feel right at home in the woods.
Whispering Canyon Cafe is a table-service restaurant known for all you care to enjoy skillets and lots of shenanigans. Breakfast includes omelettes, meats, and potatoes while dinner includes chicken, ribs, and all the delicious sides.
Breakfast skillets cost about $22 per person, and dinner skillets are about $34 per person. You better show up hungry to get your money’s worth! Since the skillets are all you can eat, you can really load up on yummy food.
The Western-themed food is brought to each table on a large platter and seconds and thirds (and more!) can be requested! The Cast Members have a reputation for sassiness, especially when you ask for ketchup!
You can find the full menu for Whispering Canyon Cafe on Character Locator!
Kids can participate in sing-alongs and hobby horse races along with playing with Lincoln logs and coloring. This is a really fun and rowdy restaurant, perfect to kick off a Disney trip or end on a fun note.

The star of the show though is the apple pie. I have always heard so many great things about this pie. Check out this recipe released by D23 in celebration of the 25th anniversary last year.

This would be so good served with vanilla ice cream!
Please note that this recipe was modified from a larger restaurant version, and the flavor may not be exactly the same as what you taste at Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Where is Wilderness Lodge?
Wilderness Lodge is located in the Magic Kingdom Resort area. Themed after turn-of-the-century lodges in the American Northwest, nature trails, rocking chairs, and a creek can be found at the resort.
Disney Vacation Club accommodations are available at Wilderness Lodge as well. Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins are both DVC options.
