We are all excited to hear when Walt Disney World will be reopening, and we have just received information about the reopening restrictions and adjustments that the park will have to make in the near future. Find out how this may affect your future travel plans.

Possible Modifications

The Walt Disney World’s operational page has identified the following updates in order to reopen the parks.

40,000 Cast Members Furlough Details in Newest Agreement

“Upon reopening, Theme Parks, the Disney Resort Hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings may be modified and will be limited in capacity and subject to limited availability or closure, based on direction from health experts and government officials to promote social distancing.”

Limited Availability

“Additionally attractions, experiences, services and amenities may have limited availability or may remain closed. We will provide more information as it becomes available. We reserve the right to cancel any reservation, admission media or purchases and provide applicable refunds. Please see our policy regarding cancellations by guests.”

You can read more about Guest cancellation policies HERE.

Providing Health and Safety

“Our focus remains on the health and safety of the entire Disney community- including the well-being of the Cast Members who are caring for and securing our parks and Resorts during the closure. We’re currently evaluating new and enhanced safety measures to help us all stay well.”

6 Tips For Keeping Kids Safe At Walt Disney World

You can read more about these safety measures HERE from the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pamela Hymel.

This news does not give us a target date for re-opening, but gives us a clearer view of the what the re-opening may look like with reduced capacities and possible attraction and experience closures.

We have a trip planned the end of August. Not sure that I want to keep it if there are a lot of closed areas. As for Dining, will consideration first be given to those of us that made our reservations and have kept them? Or are we going to get there and find out we don't have the reservations.

I would like to know about guest staying on property, will they have a better chance at entering the parks? I mean with the lower capacity.

Im not going anytime soon. Number 1...Im not going with covid 19 still rising in states and Number 2....why would I pay all that money to get a quarter of the magic? I will wait until I can experience the true magic of Disney again!

Interested to know what will happen for everyone on dining plans. Disney have offered free dining to many who had to rearrange and then there’s those who were originally booked in for same times. If restaurants are running at half capacity will they be able to offer enough dining to accommodate appropriate use of everyone’s dining plans? What if people have booked their meals 180’days out and isney decide to cancel as can only half full a restaurant?
