Disney announces $1000 cash bonus and additional education opportunities for Cast Members

Disney has just announced today that many deserving front-line Cast Members will be provided a one time cash bonus of $1000 and make a $50 million investment in a new Cast Member continuing education program.

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger stated that 125,000 Cast Members will receive a $1000 per person cash bonus.

“We are directing approximately $125 million to our Cast Members and employees across the country and making higher education more accessible with the launch of this new program.”

All full-time and part-time  Cast Members will receive the bonus in two phases.  They will receive one disbursement in March and another in September.  Executive level employees cannot receive this bonus.

Disney also announced a new eduction program that will assist up to 88,000 Cast Members in the United States.

“Participants can pursue qualifying higher education or vocational training, including courses unrelated to their current responsibilities at Disney,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement.
