From now until May 12 some guests visiting Hollywood Studios will be able to test a new food and beverage delivery service involving the Backlot Express and Fantasmic
Disney World’s Hollywood Studios will begin testing a new iPhone or Android app called “Express Order” which will allow the guest to pre-order their food. I did a search and couldn’t find “Express Order” in the Android store though.
- April 28 – May 4: Guests may pre-order meal for pickup (tray for dine-in) or to-go (bag for dining elsewhere)
- May 5 – 12: Guests may pre-order to-go (bag for dining elsewhere) or have meal delivered to table
- April 28 – May 12: Guests may participate in a test using a mobile app to order food and beverage and/or merchandise items from a limited menu while seated during the pre–show. Important: on nights when two Fantasmic! performances are held the test is only available during the pre-show of the first performance.

How are Guests selected to participate in the tests at Backlot Express/Fantasmic!?
Guests who have a FastPass+ selection and/or dining reservation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the test period will receive an email two days prior to their planned park visit inviting them to download the app and participate in the test. However, the email invitation is not required to participate in the test.
When is the Guest’s credit card charged?
The Guest’s credit card will only be charged once the order has been picked-up/delivered. If the order is not picked up, the order will be canceled.
Can Guests use other forms of payment in the app?
During this test, a credit card or Apple Pay is required. Guests cannot use the Disney Dining Plan, coupons or gift cards to pay for their orders.
On what devices will the mobile app be available?
The test app is available for both Apple and Android devices.
