Disney Finally Announces Polynesian Dining Update

Walt Disney World has several big refurbishments underway at the Disney Parks and at Walt Disney World Resorts.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is undergoing a BIG transformation, and it's a bit of a mess right now. Guests with upcoming reservations (dining and room) were notified by email of this upcoming change traffic change.
The bus stop at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort was temporarily relocated last December. This week, a new bus stop just opened at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace Closed
Trader Sam's is a popular spot for many guests visiting Disney's Polynesian Resort. The most coveted location to visit is located indoors. However, the wait times are quite long.
Many Guests choose to bypass the long line and enjoy the outdoor extension better known as Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace. In April, this outdoor location closed for an extended refurbishment.
The indoor bar, better known as the Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, has remained open even during this closure.
New Reopening Timeline
Originally, the refurbishment of Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace was estimated to last through late June 2026. Yesterday, we shared that, as we are almost mid-July, there is still no opening timeline provided for Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace.
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace will reopen in late October.
Today, Disney shared an update for this closure: "Through late October, Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will be temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House."
