Disney's Pop Century Resort has been undergoing refurbishment for months. The Walt Disney World Website states that the resort is under refurbishment and provides general details.

Still, some guests may wonder about the extent of the refurbishment and whether it will impact their stay. We have answers!

The work on Everything Pop, the gift shop and food court area, is already complete. Also, rooms have been under refurbishment for a refresh. Moreover, a recent update revealed that Disney is also refurbishing the lobby. Here is a detailed look at the current state of the resort.

Disney's website states: From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, Guest rooms at Disney's Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will remain available, Guests may notice construction during daytime hours.

Some rooms have already received updates. And, as of now (late summer), Building 5 in the 60s section is receiving the room refresh. This has limited the ability to fulfill room requests in the 60s section.

I (Kate) have visited Pop twice recently. And, the website is accurate in that the construction is only noticeable during the day. There has been no work noise whatsoever at night, as promised. Room windows in the building are taped off, and there are barriers around the building.

It is well-managed and has not been intrusive. You might see equipment. You might hear a little hammering, sawing, or electric tools running during the day. And once on the way to the Skyliner, I noticed some standing water from the work, but honestly, it was easy to avoid.

At worst, we miss being able to scoot under the shade where the Playdough sculpture is to take fewer steps in direct sunlight. Needless to say, this is not a real problem at all.

The website also says, from July 28 through early October, the lobby at Disney's Pop Century Resort will be getting a retro-inspired refresh. The lobby will remain open during construction, and all amenities will still be available. Guests may hear or see maintenance in the area until work is complete.

The walls went up for this refurbishment as I was checking out of the hotel one day. It doesn't look as put-together as usual. However, there is still space for check-in to occur. And, everything is still in place from the room where guests waiting on rooms or rides to the airport can watch cartoons to the pin board to the caricature stand.

Really, it is just a matter of aesthetics at this time. There is no disruption to the enjoyment of the amenities.

Skyliner Refurbishment Reminder

The last thing to remember is that the Skyliner will be closed briefly. This is a short closure running from January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026.

Instead, Disney will offer bus transportation to both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. This is perhaps the most intrusive closure, as people love the convenience of the Skyliner and select Pop specifically for access. So, if it is important to you, remember to take the dates into consideration.
